The four-semester program prepares graduates to tackle real-world healthcare challenges through artificial intelligence, medical data science, computer vision, software engineering, and digital health technologies. Students gain a strong foundation in both computing and clinical practice while studying at two of Austria’s leading universities. A medical background is not required: the curriculum is specifically designed for students with a technical education.
Graduates will be equipped to develop intelligent healthcare systems, improve clinical workflows, advance biomedical research, and drive innovation in hospitals, industry, and academia. Specialization opportunities include bioinformatics, neuroinformatics, public health informatics, mobile and wearable health technologies, and AI for clinical decision-making.
Administrative processes, including applications and enrolment, are managed by the Medical University of Vienna. Prospective students with a background in computer science, mathematics, engineering, biomedical engineering, or related technical disciplines are encouraged to apply.
