Exciting news from the EDBT/ICDT 2025 conference held in Barcelona in March!

Katja Hose was awarded the Distinguished Meta-Reviewer Award, illustrating her expertise and commitment to the Academic Community. In addition to this honor, Katja was invited to deliver a talk about Next-Generation Data Management Systems at an industry event held as part of the conference. Camillo Merkl was honored at the conference with not just one but two Awards - the Best Paper Award and Best Student Paper Award - for his paper “Partition Constraints for Conjunctive Queries: Bounds and Worst-Case Optimal Joins”, which he wrote together with Kyle Deeds. A rare feat!

The International Conferences on Extending Database Technology (EDBT) and Database Theory (ICDT) are an established and prestigious forum for the exchange of the latest research results in data management and research in the foundations and theory of data management. The conference provides unique opportunities for database researchers, practitioners, developers, and users to explore new ideas, techniques, and tools, and to exchange experiences.

Congratulations Katja and Camillo!
