TU Wien Informatics Wins 7 of 9 Grants in WWTF’s ICT19 Call
Out of nine successful project proposals in the fifth Information and Communication Technology call seven are coming from TU Wien Informatics researcher
From the smartphone that wakes us in the morning to the algorithm that suggests television series we might like in the evenings - with information and communication technology, we are working almost around the clock today. The Vienna Science, Research and Technology Fund (WWTF) promotes research in this area with a highly-paid funding invitation. It is not about the application of information and communication technology in other areas, but about the further development of the technology itself.
Now the winning projects of the call have been announced, and seven out of nine go to TU Wien Informatics. In total, more than 4 million euros will be invested in research projects at our faculty.

About ICT19
Information and Communication Technology 2019 is the fifth project call within the Vienna Science and Technology Fund (WWTF) ICT Programme. It invites researchers and scientists at universities and non-university research institutions in Vienna, including those moving to Vienna, who want to conduct a multi-annual (2 to 4 years) cutting-edge research project in the field of ICT and its application in other fields. Projects should strive to improve the understanding of substantial current scientific research questions (disciplinary, interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary) in the field of ICT with potential medium term economic or social benefit. A total of €5.5 million will be dedicated to this call. The funding range per project is €200,000 to €800,000.
