In the year 2000 HYVE set off with the vision of a novel innovation process which connects users, customers, vendors and developers via internet and thereby enables the collaborative development of customer-centric and trailblazing innovations. Within 14 years HYVE has established itself as a leading innovation agency, which provides services in Germany and far beyond the national borders. Because of the continuous research and more than 300 publications, HYVE made a name for itself in the area of science and is considered as innovation pioneer, leader in the field of crowdsourcing, co-creation and the founder of community-based innovation. In this talk, Prof. Dr. Füller tells a story of successful innovations and the creative power of people.


2012 Prof. Dr. Johann took office at the University of Innsbruck’s faculty for Business Administration, where he holds the recently founded chair for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Strategic Management, Marketing and Tourism. Since his habilitation on „Communities as a Source of Innovation – Towards a Theory of Innovation and Virtual Co-Creation Communities. Innovation 2.0 – From Fortified Castles to Open Bazars” he has been a senior lecturer of Marketing at the Innsbruck University School of Management. He is Fellow at the NASA Tournament Lab-Research at Harvard University and CEO of Hyve AG, an innovation and community company. In line with his research focus, he regularly gives guest lectures about co-creation, online branding, creative consumer behavior, online marketing, open innovation, and the utilization of online communities. From 2008-2010, Johann was a visiting scholar and research affiliate at MIT Sloan School of Management. Johann habilitated in business administration at the Innsbruck University. He received his PhD in marketing with distinction about “Community Based Innovations - Virtual Integration of Online Consumer Groups into New Product Development”.


This lecture is part of the “Public Lecture Series on Innovation Cases” and organized by the Informatics Innovation Center and Faculty of Informatics. Participants have the chance to learn F2F from the experiences of successful entrepreneurs who share their lessons learned. Together they identify DOs and DON’Ts based on the innovation cases presented.
