About
Admission Procedure
After completing the first semester’s study plan at TU Wien Informatics, students will continue their studies at the partner university Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH). The participants will spend their second and third or their third and fourth semesters at the partner institution. In the second case, the master thesis will also be completed at LUH. The study guidelines require that all students attain a total of a minimum of 50 ECTS at the host institution. Before transferring to the host university, double degree students will receive mandatory study counseling from the responsible academic representative of the home university. For the appropriate structure of the study abroad, a study plan will be compiled in consultation with the academic advisor.
Application
Should you wish to enroll in this double degree program, you must apply one semester before your stay abroad starts (i.e., by the end of September for the summer term, end of February for the winter term). Your application must contain a detailed CV, a transcript of records including all your marks and courses so far, and a description of your desired elective of the master program. Submit your documents to Stefan Woltran.
Please note that you can be eligible for an ERASMUS mobility scholarship. Therefore, you must apply for an Erasmus scholarship within the Erasmus application deadlines of the TU Wien International Office, even if you do not yet know whether your double degree application will be successful. Please contact the TU Wien International Office for any further questions.
Graduation
Students will obtain two degree certificates, the degree “Diplomingenieur:in” (Dipl.-Ing.) in “Logic and Computation” at TU Wien and the degree Master of Science (MSc) in “Computer Science” at LUH. The award takes place separately in the form of the relevant award documents normally used by each institution. For Austria, this diploma will fulfill the requirements of a notice of award. Each degree certificate will state that the study program was completed under an agreement on a double degree program and is only valid in combination with the degree certificate of the partner institution.
