We invite applications for this full-time professorship until December 1, 2019.

This full-time, permanent position is affiliated to the Institute of Logic and Computation at the Faculty of Informatics. The estimated starting date is in October 2020.

Research Area

The focus of this professorship lies on techniques and tools for Artificial Intelligence systems. Potential research topics include:

  • Heuristic problem solving and search
  • Question Answering
  • Algorithmic Decision Making
  • Probabilistic Models and Reasoning
  • Planning and Scheduling
  • Natural Language Understanding
  • Engineering of Intelligent Systems

Profile

The successful candidate will have an outstanding academic record in Artificial Intelligence, in particular techniques and tools of AI Systems.

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD or doctoral degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics
  • Post-doctoral experience at a university or other research institution
  • An outstanding research and publication record
  • An excellent reputation as an active member of the international scientific community
  • Experience in raising research funds and managing scientific research projects
  • Experience in university teaching
  • Pedagogic and didactic skills
  • Administrative and organizational skills
  • Gender sensitivity and social skills

Desirable Qualifications

  • Habilitation or equivalent qualification
  • Leadership skills
  • Proficiency in German, or willingness to learn
  • Willingness to promote young scientists
  • Gender sensitivity and social skills

Salary

In accordance with the Austrian Collective Agreement for University Staff, this position offers an annual minimum salary of € 71,822.80. The actual salary will be negotiated between the successful candidate and TU Wien and commensurate to his or her qualifications.
