The call for the 2026 Google PhD Fellowship is officially open, nominations until April 7!
Applications for the 2026 Google PhD Fellowship are officially open!
This program is designed to champion PhD students who are redefining the boundaries of computer science and related fields. PhD students are nominated by a university official. TU Wien Informatics can nominate up to three eligible students.
The TU Wien Informatics Doctoral School will coordinate the internal selection. So if you wish to nominate one of your students, please send the following to doctoral-school@informatics.tuwien.ac.at via email until April 7, 2026.:
- Student CV with links to website and publications (if available)
- Research/dissertation proposal (maximum 3 pages, excluding references)
- Short (1-page) CV of the student’s primary PhD advisor
- 2-3 letters of recommendation from those familiar with the nominee’s work (at least one from the thesis advisor for current PhD students)
The Google PhD Fellowship includes:
- An up to 2-year Fellowship
- A yearly bursary towards stipend, health care, social benefits, tuition and fees, conference travel, and personal computing equipment. The bursary varies by country.
