Ready? Set? Jeopardy! The qualification for this year’s Austria Cyber Security Challenge (ACSC) is just around the corner. The ACSC is Austria’s official cybersecurity talent competition and will take place for the 15th time in 2026.
By participating, you will solve realistic, hands-on security challenges, compete with other talented students from all over Austria, learn from experienced cybersecurity professionals, and potentially qualify for the Austrian team at the European Cyber Security Challenge. You don’t need to be an expert to take part. The challenges are designed for advanced participants, and for motivated beginners with curiosity, analytical thinking, and a passion for problem-solving. Whether you are focusing on IT security in your studies or simply enjoy tinkering, coding, breaking, and fixing things, this is a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself and gain valuable experience.
We will start this year’s challenge with a kick-off event in Vienna, where you can meet the organizers and other participants. It will also be available for those of you who can’t make it in person. CTF Challenges will run for over two months, released in two waves: March 1 and April 1, 2026, and are held in cooperation with our German and Swiss counterparts. You can solve any challenge at any time during the qualification period (March 1 – May 1). That means even the very first challenge can be submitted in the last minutes before the deadline!
You can find all details about the ACSC and the kick-off on the official ACSC website.

ABOUT
The ACSC is a Capture The Flag (CTF) competition for (young) talents in the field of cybersecurity, organized by Cyber Security Austria. It’s an ethical hacking initiative where people from all over Austria put their know-how to the test in two age groups and one open category. But it’s not only about the competitions: The young hackers find like-minded people and peers among themselves, as well as contact with mentors, trainers, and potential employers. The ACSC is organized with support from the Federal Chancellary, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Women, Science and Research, and the Austrian Armed Forces.
